Just to preface this, as part of my journey to be better, i have gone down quite the rabbit hole of gratitude.


On suggestion on being better at gratitude is to have a gratitude journal, wherein you keep a list of things you're grateful for.

I'm not quite sure if ill be able to get the recommended 5 new things each day, so maybe ill keep it to every 2 days?

I found a few good prompts also:

  1. What's something you're grateful to have today that you didn't have a year ago?
  2. What is a failure or mistake in your life for which you're grateful?
  3. Write about a tradition for which you're grateful
  4. Open your phone and describe a photo you like

  5. Write a list of 10 things you love about yourself

  6. One of the best experiences in my life was...

  7. Write about a pet and what makes them special

  8. Write about a hobby

  9. Write about a success you had (and who helped you)

  10. Describe your favorite moment of each part of the day

  12. List five small ways that you can share your gratitude today.
  13. Write about a person in your life that you’re especially grateful for and why.
  14. What skills or abilities are you thankful to have?
  15. What is there about a challenge you’re experiencing right now that you can be thankful for?
  16. How is where you are in life today different than a year ago–and what positive changes are you thankful for?
  17. What activities and hobbies would you miss if you were unable to do them?
  18. List five body parts that you’re grateful for and why.
  19. What about the city you live in are you grateful for?
  20. What are you taking for granted about your day to day that you can be thankful for?
  21. List 5 people in your life who are hard to get along with—and write down at least one quality for each that you are grateful for.
  22. What materialistic items are you most grateful for?
  23. Write about the music you’re thankful to be able to listen to and why.
  24. Who has done something this week to help you or make your life easier and how can you thank them?
  25. What foods or meals are you most thankful for?
  26. What elements of nature are you grateful for and why?
  27. What part of your morning routine are you most thankful for?
  28. Write a letter to someone who has positively impacted your life, however big or small.
  29. What is something you’re grateful to have learned this week?
  30. When was the last time you laughed uncontrollably—relive the memory.
